How to Make a Conduit
A conduit is an underwater beacon: build a prismarine frame around it and it grants water breathing, night vision and faster mining to everyone nearby. Here is the recipe and how to switch it on.

Both pieces come from the ocean, so pack a boat.
Heart of the Sea
Found only in buried treasure chests. Grab a buried-treasure map from a shipwreck or ocean ruin, then dig at the marked X.
Nautilus Shells (8)
Reel them in while fishing, buy them from wandering traders, or take them from a drowned that spawned holding one.
Activating it underwater
Surround the placed conduit with a frame of prismarine, prismarine bricks, dark prismarine or sea lanterns.
16 blocks: it opens
Sixteen frame blocks is the minimum. The eye opens, starts spinning, and Conduit Power switches on nearby.
42 blocks: full power
Fill the frame out to forty-two blocks for the maximum 96-block range, and it will also strike nearby hostile mobs.

Stay underwater as long as you like; your air never runs out in range.
Night Vision
The dark ocean floor lights up so you can see and build clearly.
Faster Mining
Break blocks underwater at full speed, like a touch of Haste.

What do I need for a conduit?
Eight nautilus shells around one heart of the sea in the crafting grid. The heart comes from buried treasure; the shells from fishing, wandering traders or drowned.
How do I activate it?
Place the conduit underwater and build a frame of prismarine, prismarine bricks, dark prismarine or sea lanterns one block away on each side. The eye opens once the frame is big enough.
How many prismarine blocks does it need?
Sixteen frame blocks is the minimum to switch it on. Building up to forty-two gives full power and the largest range.
Does a conduit work on land?
No. A conduit only activates and grants its power underwater. Out of water it stays closed and does nothing.
What does Conduit Power do?
Everyone in range gets water breathing, night vision and faster underwater mining. A fully powered conduit also zaps nearby hostile mobs like guardians and drowned.
How far does it reach?
Range grows with the frame. At full power Conduit Power covers up to a 96-block radius, easily enough for a big build site.
