How to Make a Jukebox
A jukebox spins your music discs and fills the room with sound. One diamond and eight planks make one. Pick a disc below to hear what plays.

The recipe
One diamond, wrapped in eight planks of any wood.
How to play a disc
Place the jukebox, then right-click it with a music disc to start the track. Right-click again with an empty hand to eject the disc. Put a comparator beside it and the signal tells you which disc is playing, so a track can drive redstone.
Where music discs come from
Dungeons, ancient cities, woodland mansions and other loot chests hold music discs.
If a skeleton's arrow kills a creeper, the creeper drops a random music disc. The classic farm trick.
Find 9 disc fragments in ancient cities and craft them together to make Disc 5.

Setup tips and gotchas
Small details that trip people up the first time.
- Any wood works. Oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, bamboo planks or crimson and warped planks all craft the same jukebox. You can mix two wood types in the eight outer slots.
- The diamond is the only real cost. One jukebox needs exactly one diamond and eight planks, so it stays cheap once you have a single diamond.
- A jukebox burns. It is a wood-family block, so keep it away from lava and fire. Flowing lava one block away can ignite it.
- Discs stack to one. Each music disc is a single non-stackable item, so a full chest row of discs takes nine slots, not one.
- The comparator signal differs per disc. 13 outputs the weakest signal at level 1 and 5 the strongest at level 15, with each disc giving its own fixed level, so you can build a redstone display that lights a lamp per track.
- Hoppers do not auto-load it. A hopper pointing into a jukebox does not insert discs in survival, so you swap discs by hand or by right-click only.
