Strategies for rare mobs
Elder Guardian
There are exactly three Elder Guardians per Ocean Monument and they do not respawn. Equip Depth Strider III boots, bring Water Breathing potions and a trident or sword with Sharpness V. Clear the regular Guardians first, then hunt each Elder Guardian in the monument's three wings.
Piglin Brute
Found only inside Bastion Remnants and they do not respawn. They are extremely aggressive and deal massive damage. Approach with full netherite armor and hit-and-retreat. Do not try to trade or negotiate, they attack on sight regardless of gold armor.
Endermite
Endermites have a 5% chance to spawn when you throw an Ender Pearl. Stand in one spot and throw pearls repeatedly. Name tag the Endermite immediately when one spawns so it does not despawn after 2 minutes, then kill it.
Evoker
Evokers spawn on specific floors of Woodland Mansions and also appear in Wave 5 and Wave 7 of raids. If you cannot find a Mansion, trigger a raid by getting Bad Omen and entering a village. The Evoker will come to you.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting Endermites. They are easy to overlook because they spawn randomly from Ender Pearls and despawn quickly.
- Not visiting a Bastion for Piglin Brutes. Regular Piglins are common but Brutes only appear in Bastions.
- Confusing Zombie variants. Zombie, Husk and Drowned are all separate entries. Kill one of each.
- Skipping Phantoms. If you sleep regularly, Phantoms never spawn. Go three nights without sleeping to force them.
