What is a good modern house palette?

Three materials, no more
Modern builds work on restraint: one main block, one accent and glass. Quartz with dark oak trim, or smooth stone with warped planks, will carry an entire house, and a fourth material is usually what makes a small build look busy.
Break the box with a single offset
Pushing one section forward by a block, or dropping one part of the roof, does more for a small modern house than any amount of detailing. The eye reads two volumes as architecture and one volume as a shed.
