How to Make Resin Bricks

Resin bricks are the warm amber building set you get from the Creaking's resin. They build like any brick set, and that orange tone is unlike anything else in the game.

Resin clumps become resin bricks, which craft into the bricks block and then the full stairs, slab, wall and chiseled set. The exact grid amounts are on Astroworld crafting.

What it is good for

Pure decoration, and that is the point. Resin bricks bring a warm orange-amber that no other block matches, so they read like terracotta or copper without the oxidation. They pair beautifully with pale oak from the same biome, deepslate, and dark woods. Use the chiseled variant for trim and the stairs and slabs for detailing.

It cannot be hurt by normal attacks. Attacking it at night makes its creaking heart place resin clumps on nearby pale oak logs, and mining the heart drops 1 to 3 more clumps (and ends that Creaking). So you farm the clumps rather than kill the mob.

How many resin clumps make a block of resin?

Nine. A block of resin is a 3x3 of resin clumps in the crafting grid, the same 9-to-1 storage recipe as iron or coal. Reverse it back to nine clumps with one block in any slot.

What is the recipe for resin bricks?

Smelt one resin clump in a furnace to get one resin brick (there is no crafting-grid recipe for the brick itself). Then four resin bricks in a 2x2 give one block of resin bricks. From there it is the standard brick set: 6 bricks make 4 stairs, 3 bricks make 6 slabs, and 6 bricks make 6 walls.

Can resin bricks be smelted or used as fuel?

Resin clumps are smelted in a furnace to make resin bricks, but neither clumps nor bricks work as furnace fuel, and resin bricks themselves have no further smelting recipe.

Are resin bricks on both Java and Bedrock?

Yes. Resin, the Creaking, and the Pale Garden all arrived in the 1.21.4 Winter Drop on Java and the matching Bedrock update, so the full resin set exists on both editions.

Why is my resin not respawning?

Resin clumps only generate near a living creaking heart in the Pale Garden, and each heart spawns one Creaking at a time. If you mined the heart, that Creaking is gone and no more clumps appear there. Leave hearts intact and keep attacking the Creaking at night so the heart places fresh clumps on the logs.

Farming resin and building tips

Where the clumps come from and how to turn a stack into walls.

The Creaking activates at night and freezes when you look at it. Attack it in the dark and its creaking heart places 2 to 3 resin clumps on nearby pale oak logs, so the real farm is hitting it after dark and harvesting the logs, not killing it.
A creaking heart sits inside pale oak logs. Mine one and you get the heart block plus 1 to 3 clumps, but the Creaking tied to it ends and that heart stops producing. Mark hearts you want to keep.
Conversion math: smelt 1 clump for 1 resin brick, combine 4 resin bricks into 1 block of resin bricks, and 9 clumps make 1 block of resin. One full stack of 64 clumps smelts into 64 resin bricks, which is 16 brick blocks.
Stairs, slabs and walls are crafted from resin brick items: 6 bricks give 4 stairs, 3 give 6 slabs, 6 give 6 walls. A stonecutter turns one resin bricks block into one stair, slab or wall with no waste.
Resin bricks need a pickaxe to drop, like other stone-type blocks, and no Silk Touch is required. They share stone bricks' blast resistance of 6, so they hold up around redstone and creepers.
For contrast, line resin bricks against pale oak planks and grey moss from the same biome. The amber against the pale wood reads cleaner than mixing it with red brick or terracotta.
