Splash and Lingering Variants

Add Gunpowder to any finished potion to create a Splash Potion you can throw. Splash potions affect all entities within a small radius on impact. Durations for splash variants are reduced to 75 % of the drinkable version. Add Dragon's Breath to a Splash Potion to create a Lingering Potion that leaves an area-of-effect cloud on the ground. Lingering potion durations are 25 % of the drinkable version.

Best Uses

  • Sustained fights: The extended version restores up to 18 hearts over 90 seconds, making it the best sustain potion for drawn-out PvE encounters like Trial Chambers.
  • PvP: Regen II provides faster healing for short, intense fights. Pair with Healing II splashes for burst healing on top of passive regeneration.
  • Boss fights: Drink extended Regeneration before engaging the Wither. The passive healing offsets chip damage while you focus on dodging and attacking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Regeneration or Healing better?

It depends on the situation. Healing provides instant HP recovery and is better for emergencies. Regeneration provides sustained recovery over time and is better for prolonged fights where you take continuous damage.

Does Regeneration work on undead?

No. Regeneration has no effect on undead mobs. Unlike Healing (which damages undead), Regeneration simply does nothing to them.

Can I stack Regeneration with natural health regeneration?

Yes. The potion effect stacks with the natural regeneration that occurs when your hunger bar is at 18+ points. Both heal independently.
